Car Show

The sun shone down (just about!), the engines gleamed, and the community came together on Saturday, 24th May for what turned out to be a truly spectacular day at the Kidwelly Classic Car Show, held at the beautiful Ashburnham Hotel (The Ash Bar & Grill) in Burry Port.

With over 100 classic vehicles on display — from vintage cars to beautifully restored bikes, trucks, and tractors — there was something to delight every motoring enthusiast. The showground buzzed with excitement as visitors admired the exhibits, chatted with proud owners, and soaked up the nostalgic atmosphere.

Alongside the classic vehicles, we hosted a vibrant range of craft stalls, offering everything from handmade gifts to local produce. A huge thank you to the RNLI and the team from Welsh Air Ambulance, who both had a strong presence on the day. Most importantly, thanks to the club fundraising events, Kidwelly Motor Club donated £1,700 to the Welsh Air Ambulance—a fantastic contribution to a truly vital cause.

Food and refreshments were in plentiful supply throughout the day, with everything from teas and coffees with the fantastic Gloria to ice creams, burgers, and hot dogs with Stacey and her incredible crew keeping everyone well-fed and cheerful. The chefs and staff of The Ash did a fantastic job as the Ashburnham’s restaurant was packed with families and visitors enjoying great meals and a warm welcome. Laughter, music, and the hum of happy conversation filled the air — and even better, the rain stayed away!

A very special thank you goes out to our incredible team of stewards and marshals, who helped with smooth exhibitor and visitor parking and kept the day running like clockwork. Their efforts behind the scenes made a huge difference and helped create a well-organised, stress-free experience for everyone involved.

The day was filled with smiles, stories, and shared passions — and we’re already hearing calls to make this a regular, annual event. With such a brilliant turnout and overwhelming community support, we’re excited about what the future holds.
